Structural Designer

DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for an ambitious Structural Designer to build their future with us. Our designers focus on providing our clients with the best design experience possible through innovative solutions, quality designs, and thorough coordination and detail of construction documents. Our next team member will:

– Perform structural analysis and design of new and existing steel, concrete, masonry, light gage, and wood structures under the guidance of a project engineer.

– Work with clients and staff to develop structural engineering documents and coordinate with other disciplines from design development through construction administration.

– Produce structural documents using building information modeling (BIM), including models and engineering drawings, such as plans, elevations, cross sections, and details of building structures, from rough sketched and/or from general engineering design information according to established standards and procedures.

– Perform field investigations to document existing conditions of buildings and structural components and provide technical writings to report on field observations and investigations.

– Review shop drawings.

– Gain a better understanding of construction means and methods, how building components interact and connect, learn about specifications, construction contracts, and responsibilities, and how to deliver a better project in partnership with our business partners

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

– Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structures

– 1+ year(s) of experience in structural design preferred

– Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred or in pursuit of obtaining certification

– Hands-on knowledge in standard structural engineering techniques and procedures preferred

– Demonstrate technical skills in structural analysis of new and existing structures

– Strong knowledge of structural design codes (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7, NDS) preferred

– Working knowledge of industry software such as Revit and AutoCAD is required. Working knowledge of RISA and ENERCALC preferred.

– A team player possessing strong skills in communication, planning, and organization.

– Has the flexibility for occasional travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices.

– Be able to obtain & maintain child abuse and criminal history clearances as necessary

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday

LOCATION: Mechanicsburg, PA

SALARY RANGE: Salary dependent upon experience
