Provided structural services for multiple renovation elements, including the design of a new deck adjacent to the existing building, a new exit stair from the banquet room, a concrete stair on grade, and new steps to the existing deck. Additional work included support framing for a folding partition in the banquet room, revising the stair width to the lower-level bar, and evaluating the upper bar floor framing for topping and structural integrity, which resulted in the design of new support columns. The design was completed in two phases to meet an accelerated schedule.

This project involved the design of an addition and renovation to the existing fire company building while preserving the historic two-story structure and original one-story addition. A later addition was removed down to grade and reconstructed as a new two-story building with a one-story equipment bay. Renovations brought the existing structure up to current building standards. The new construction features a steel-framed system with shear walls and moment frames at the lower levels, and light gauge framed bearing/shear walls at the perimeter of the new second floor.

KBRACE provided structural engineering services to assess the condition of the third and fourth floor exterior balconies and the exterior stair to the third floor balcony on the east side of the building. Repairs were designed to address deterioration and preserve the original function of the access balconies. The project also included emergency shoring of the main landing beam at the top of the stairs and structural repair and reconstruction of the Walkway Level and first Office Level exterior balconies, along with a new exterior stair to the Walkway Level balcony.
