SHIPPENSBURG HS GESA RENOVATION | SHIPPENSBURG, PA
Structural services for the HVAC renovation at the high school, replacing seventeen rooftop units with new units in kind. Evaluated the existing roof framing to confirm the structural capacity to support the new unit weight and designed reinforcement as necessary.

Provided structural services including preliminary foundation design for a new PEMB, reinforcement design for the masonry wall separating the office from the warehouse, detailing for the office-to-warehouse interface, and bracing design for the canopy attachment to the office’s masonry façade.

COUNTRY CLUB OF HARRISBURG BALLROOM FLOOR DEFLECTION | HARRISBURG, PA
Provided structural services to review floor deflection at the wall between the ballroom and corridor and assisted with the attachment design for new non-structural buttress ceiling beams. Conducted a visual condition review of the ballroom floor, attic space above, first floor below, and basement area. Structural drawings for remediation and repair were prepared to address the findings.

GREYSTONE RESTAURANT AT RANGE END RENOVATION | DILLSBURG, PA
Provided structural services for multiple renovation elements, including the design of a new deck adjacent to the existing building, a new exit stair from the banquet room, a concrete stair on grade, and new steps to the existing deck. Additional work included support framing for a folding partition in the banquet room, revising the stair width to the lower-level bar, and evaluating the upper bar floor framing for topping and structural integrity, which resulted in the design of new support columns. The design was completed in two phases to meet an accelerated schedule.

GETTYSBURG JAZZERCISE | GETTYSBURG, PA
Provided structural services for the design of a new wood-framed dance studio measuring approximately 76' x 47'. The structure utilized open-web wood trusses and a slab-on-grade foundation. Varying ceiling heights were incorporated to accommodate studio use, with lateral stability achieved through wood-sheathed shear walls.

COUNTRY CLUB OF HARRISBURG – MEN’S LOCKER ROOM RENOVATION | HARRISBURG, PA
Provided structural services to evaluate the impacts of architectural renovations to the men’s locker room in the existing building. The project included reinforcement and repair of the second-floor wood framing following a condition assessment, the design of a new exterior reinforced concrete stairwell for basement access, and replacement of the first-floor wood framing with a slab-on-grade system.

HERSHEY VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY | HERSHEY, PA
This project involved the design of an addition and renovation to the existing fire company building while preserving the historic two-story structure and original one-story addition. A later addition was removed down to grade and reconstructed as a new two-story building with a one-story equipment bay. Renovations brought the existing structure up to current building standards. The new construction features a steel-framed system with shear walls and moment frames at the lower levels, and light gauge framed bearing/shear walls at the perimeter of the new second floor.

333 MARKET WALKWAY EVALUATION & REPAIRS | HARRISBURG, PA
KBRACE provided structural engineering services to assess the condition of the third and fourth floor exterior balconies and the exterior stair to the third floor balcony on the east side of the building. Repairs were designed to address deterioration and preserve the original function of the access balconies. The project also included emergency shoring of the main landing beam at the top of the stairs and structural repair and reconstruction of the Walkway Level and first Office Level exterior balconies, along with a new exterior stair to the Walkway Level balcony.

KBRACE delivered structural design for a two-story addition using precast concrete planks and masonry load-bearing walls, featuring a cantilevered slab to meet complex design needs. Continued support in 2023 included anchorage design for a roof-mounted plant display hoist. This standout project was named one of Central Penn Business Journal’s Top Projects of 2024.
